Method
- Heat the water. Boil the kettle, then wait about 60 seconds. Boiling water burns the coffee and turns it bitter.
- Open the bag. Tear along the dotted line, take out the filter and give it a gentle shake to level the grounds.
- Hang it. Pull out the paper arms and hook them over the rim of your mug so it sits evenly.
- Pour in stages. Wet the grounds with a small splash first, then keep pouring slowly in small amounts until you reach 200–250mL. Pause if it gets close to the top.
- Let it drip. Wait until all the water has run through. For a stronger cup, leave the bag sitting in the coffee for up to 4 minutes.
- Remove and drink.
What is a drip coffee bag?
A single-serve pour-over: a paper filter pre-filled with freshly ground coffee that hangs on your cup. No machine, no plunger, no mess. Made for travel, the office, camping, work sites and emergency caffeine situations.
Rip 'n Drip or Dunk Bags? A Rip 'n Drip hangs over the cup and you pour the water through it. A Dunk Bag steeps in the cup like a tea bag.
Dial it in
- Bitter: the water was too hot. Wait the full minute.
- Weak: use 200mL instead of 250mL, and let it sit for 3–4 minutes.
